Monoclonal Antibody for High-Affinity Choline Transporter
Application
- Immunocytochemistry
- Western Blot
- Immunoprecipitation
Specificity
Human, rat & mouse high-affinity choline transporter (CHT). No detectable cross reactivity with other proteins by western blot.
Subtype
Mouse IgG1 (monoclonal)
Technical Summary
Acetylcholine functions as a neurotransmitter in both the central and peripheral nervous systems of all vertebrates, and is the principle neurotransmitter used at the neuromuscular junction. Presynaptic synthesis of this vital neurotransmitter requires a supply of choline, which neurons acquire through high-affinity choline transporters (CHTs).
This monoclonal antibody can be used to detect the high-affinity choline transporter in mouse, rat, and human samples by both immunoblotting and immunocytochemistry. It has been shown to label the high-affinity CHT across a host of brain regions as well as in the periphery. Additionally, this antibody can be used for applications employing immunoprecipitation.
