Hanjoong Jo

Hanjoong Jo is the Associate Chair of Emory Affairs and Professor in the Emory/Georgia Tech Department of Biomedical Engineering’s Division of Cardiology. He is also the principal investigator of the Jo Lab, housed at Emory. The Jo Lab studies the blood flow mechanisms that regulate endotheial biology and dysfunction, which leads to ailments such as aortic valve calcification. In addition, Jo himself holds research interests in mechanobiology and cardiovascular diseases and the role of shear stress in vascular inflammation and neovascularization. Jo serves as editor on 8 academic journals and his NIH proposals have ranked in the top 1% of submissions.
