Robert Gross is the MBNA/Bowman Chair and professor of the
Department of Neurosurgery. His primary research interests focus on developing
novel strategies for epilepsy and movement disorder using neuromodulation
through various techniques, such as multielectrode arrays, closed loop control
theory, and optogenetics. His group has also developed a gene therapy approach
to improve axon outgrowth in regenerative situations like Parkinson’s disease.
