Tamara Caspary is a Professor in the Department of Human
Genetics at the Emory University School of Medicine. She also serves as a Full
Member in Neuroscience and in Genetics and Molecular Biology in the Laney
Graduate School. Her area of expertise is in mammalian nervous system
development, which she studies in her own research and in the Department of
Human Genetic’s Caspary Lab. Using a variety of mutagenesis techniques, Caspary
and her lab are able to identify recessive mutant genetic lines and the
specific defects they cause in the nervous system. Caspary holds memberships in
the Genetics Society of America, Society for Developmental Biology, and American
Association of Cell Biology.
