Huw Davies

Huw Davies is the Asa Griggs Candler Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Chemistry at Emory University. He is the founder of The Davies Group at Emory, which researches the development of novel enantioselective synthetic methods for application in total synthesis and drug discovery. This work spans the design of chiral catalysts, carbenoid chemistry, total synthesis of biologically active natural products, and more. His chiral dirhodium catalysts have been made commercially available and are used by research groups across the country. Just recently, he won the 2019 Herbert C. Brown Award for Creative Research in Synthetic Methods from the American Chemical Society.
