Rebecca Arnold

Rebecca Arnold is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology in the Emory University School of Medicine. In addition to her own research, Arnold helps direct the Discovery Project in Dr. John Petros’ lab, which is currently working on a screening test for kidney cancer. Prostate and kidney cancers both comprise the bulk of Arnold’s research activities. Her focus is in reactive oxygen and nitrogen species as well as mitochondrial genetics, and she additionally studies the racial disparities in prostate cancer. Over the course of her career, Arnold has amassed numerous National Research Service Awards from the NIH and she has built a reputation as an active educator and mentor.
