Antibodies Proteins Involved in Alzheimer's Disease

Applications
  • Western Blot
  • Immunoprecipitation
  • Immunocytochemistry
Specificity

C-elegans SPE-4 protein as well as other presenilin family proteins. No detectable cross reactivity with other proteins by western blot.

Subtype

Rabbit IgG1

Technical Summary

Alzheimer's disease is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by progressive cognitive deterioration together with a decline in activity and neuropsychiatric symptoms. In many patients suffering from Alzheimer's disease, mutations in the presenilin proteins are observed. The SPE-4 protein is a presenilin family transmembrane protein found in c-elegans.

These antibodies can be used to specifically detect SPE-4 protein by immunocytochemistry. They have been shown to detect SPE-4 protein in c-elegans as well as human presenilin proteins in humans. These antibodies can also be used for immunoblotting and immunoprecipitation purposes.
