Technical Summary

Junctional adhesion molecule A (JAM-A) is a transmembrane structural component of intercellular junctions implicated in the regulation of platelet aggregation, cellular adhesion, leukocyte transmigration/inflammation, and in the regulation of paracellular permeability at the level of epithelial and endothelial tight junctions. These monoclonal antibodies (J3F.1, J4F.1, J10.4, and 1H2A9) can be used to specifically detect human JAM-A by immunoblotting or immunocytochemistry. These JAM-A mAbs have been shown to label epithelial cells from intestine, lung, and kidney, prominently in the region of tight junctions and also along lateral cell membranes below the tight junctions.
