ADHD Mouse Model for Neurochemical Studies

Technical Summary

VMAT2 transports monoamines from cellular cytosol into synaptic vesicles. The first mouse model with overexpressed VMAT2 gene displaying enhanced monoamine signaling has been developed at Emory. This model may be useful for studies concerning learning and memory as well as neurological disorders such as ADHD, schizophrenia, and mania.
