H. Trent Spencer

H. Trent Spencer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Emory University School of Medicine. He additionally is the Director of the Gene and Cell Therapy Lab in the Aflac Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. His research targets the development of gene therapy treatments for hemophilia A and novel immunotherapy treatments for cancer that involve genetically engineering immunocompetent cells in order to execute the combined use of chemotherapy and cell-based cancer treatments. More broadly, he takes interest in the development of gene therapy treatments for childhood cancer and inherited diseases.
