Michael Davis

Michael Davis is an Associate Professor in the Emory/Georgia Tech Department of Biomedical Engineering. He acts as Director of the Children’s Heart Research and Outcomes Center and is a Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Research Scholar as well. As principal investigator of the Davis Lab, Davis studies new approaches to cardiac regeneration and preservation after injury using molecular- and biomaterials-based techniques. The lab uses biomaterials to control the delivery of drugs to the heart and has recently begun experimenting with 3D printing for cardiac patches and valve tissue engineering. He also has interests in the role of oxidative stress in cardiac dysfunction following myocardial infarction.
